Jean Couturier
Jean Couturier entered the exclusive world of haute couture in 1945, although his name remains synonymous with fragrances.
An exceptional businessman, he was hired by several designers to launch their perfume collections, including Azzaro and Yves Saint Laurent, where he became one of the founders of YSL Parfums. Around this time, Jacqueline Couturier began her career as a "nose" in Grasse at the Jean Carles School.
When she presented her latest creation, Coriandre, to her husband, Jean Couturier resigned from his job and together they founded their own Maison de Parfums in 1972.
