Baroque music has been an integral part of my life since childhood. I often woke up in the morning to the sounds of Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks or Lully's "Te Deum." As children, my sister and I hated it. But in college, I fell head over heels in love with classical music. It has become an integral part of my life. I like to imagine the wild soirées that must have taken place at the court of Louis XIV, the Sun King: bacchanalian bliss with baroque melodies that sound rather staid and correct today. We should have parties like that again.
