Inspired by the fans in the sacristy of St. Mark's Basilica in Venice.
It smells almost oriental and is reminiscent of the spices (from the Latin "species," special, valuable goods) that arrived in the lagoon city by sea. In Venice, spice makers experimented with these ingredients, mixing and measuring them, and then selling them in small packages called "sacchetti veneziani." From that point on, Venice and the world could no longer do without spices, which were used not only to season food but often also for the ceremonial and sumptuous decoration of the cathedrals adorned with golden mosaics.
