THIS DAY

It seems to have sealed the end.
Everything seemed to have happened quickly.
People beat their chests, everyone condemned,
a chapter was hastily closed,
for Saturday was approaching.

And yet, fear and astonishment describe the unexpected,
a precious bottle shatters into a thousand pieces,
spreading its fragrance and speaking in the silence.

And yet we knew it.

Death is not the last word.

The stone is rolled away and with it
it turns my life upside down every day,
anointing my skin, now made of sand,
so that I can stain this linen
with my imperfections.

The now useless ointment frames an empty space.
Rich.

That is the wonder,

that is the day.

The fragrance HÆC DIES from Filippo Sorcinelli's Délire de Voyage collection was launched shortly before Easter.
Filippo underlines these moments by olfactorily interpreting some passages from the Gospel of Mark, especially the moment of amazement and fear of the women when they notice that the stone has been rolled away from the tomb.
In an image that ideally describes this moment, the bottles of precious anointing oils of aloe and myrrh, which they had prepared to anoint Jesus' body, fall to the ground when they see not only the rolled-away stone, but also all the white linen cloths that wrapped the body. Thereupon, a young man appears in radiant white robes...
The bottle and the four "wings" that open "ritually" are covered with sand and dust to evoke the footsteps, the path, and the place. But the element that draws attention is the cap, which replicates the stylistic element of the rolled-away tombstone, as they were made in the past.
The artwork is completely covered with a white linen cloth on which the name of the fragrance is written: HÆC DIES.
The outside of the packaging is also covered with the same linen.
