The Délire de Voyage collection is expanded with a second fragrance dedicated to and inspired by the terrible event of the FIRE OF NOTRE-DAME CATHEDRAL IN PARIS on April 15, 2019. The invitation, however, is not to stop at this date, BUT TO REVEAL THE TRUE ESSENCE TO THE WORLD.
Filippo Sorcinelli, known as the tailor of the Popes, wanted to capture three important moments in this new Extrait de Parfum: the TRIGGERING EVENT, the WATER ON THE STONES and the ESSENCE THAT LASTS.
Notre-Dame Cathedral is undoubtedly one of the most famous and most visited religious buildings in the world. Filippo had the privilege of accessing places closed to tourists, capturing images, smells, and unexpected impressions.
BUT WHAT IS THE ESSENCE OF THIS CATHEDRAL? We immediately tend to believe that it merely carries the strong scent of incense. Nothing could be further from the truth! The smell of Notre-Dame is not that of incense. TODAY, IT IS THE MOMENT OF SMOKE THAT MARKS HISTORY. It is also the water that bubbles from the stones and runs down the sides of the organ. Today, it is the crack in the vault through which the light of the blue sky filters in. It is the scent of uninterrupted life, of the unspoiled soul; it is the golden cross that shines. IT IS THE TRUTH THAT CARRIES US FORWARD.
Notre-Damé 15.4.2019, the true essence, wishes to offer a small support to the Maîtrise, the group of singers and musicians who safeguard the cathedral's priceless heritage of sacred music. Proceeds from sales will be donated to the Association of Sacred Music to help them continue their work and mission, currently taking place outside their home.
As always, special attention is paid to the packaging: the bottle's cap is a monolith made of burnt wood, evoking the tragic moment of the fire and bearing the fragrance's name. Upon opening, the eye is drawn to the distinctive four "wings," painted and signed by Filippo Sorcinelli himself with symbols, colors, and stylistic elements inspired by the Paris Cathedral: four truly small "paintings" that create a unique and exclusive work of art.
