Polishing the Reliquaries

Before a solemn ceremony, the altar transforms into a place of bustling concentration. The reliquaries are precisely arranged, lifted, and examined against the light; the cloth glides over the silver and gold surfaces with a slow, deliberate motion, restoring the material to its radiant richness. The light refracts on the metals, shimmers on the engravings, and ignites warm reflections that engage in a dialogue with the glow of the candle flames.

The air is permeated with a delicate, metallic, and slightly sweet scent, blending with the memory of incense and the softness of wax. In this fragrance, one senses the care dedicated to the sacred object, the desire to present it with dignity and splendor.
