The beautiful mosaics of the Byzantine civilization, such as those in Ravenna, are composed of lustrous gold tiles, imperfected by the ravages of time. This sense of theatrical and luminous splendor, accompanied by a dark and obscure side, inspired Byzantine Amber.
The geranium – fleshy, rosy, spicy, slightly green – contrasts with the dry minerality of ambergris and styrax.
The basic framework of this work is a familiar structure, an amber accord enriched by a spicy note that makes it sensual: cinnamon.
