He is still considered America's most brilliant designer: Roy Halston Frowick, who coined his second name as the trademark HALSTON.
Halston was born in Iowa in 1932. He was only 58 when he died of cancer in 1990. His mother was a seamstress, and Halston developed an early interest in fashion. He initially worked as a window dresser and then enjoyed great success as a milliner. His hats, worn by Jackie Kennedy and Bianca Jagger, are unforgettable. Liza Minnelli and Elizabeth Taylor appeared in his clothing designs.
His fragrance compositions are also legendary, such as 'Halston', released in 1974 in the characteristic bulbous bottle, which was designed by designer Elsa Peretti, with whom he was a friend.
'Halston Z-14', released in 1976, with its dark brown, bulbous bottle, as if sucked empty, is now the classic men's fragrance with a lasting masculine composition of a woody-mossy note, accompanied by fine suede.
