Monoscent G is an alcoholic solution of the IFF captive Galaxolide S.

Background
The original Galaxolide® was discovered in 1957 by Dr. Beets of IFF. Driven by the goal of mimicking the scent of nitro-musk, it took years of dedicated research for this idea to become a marketable ingredient. The resulting Galaxolide proved to be an exceptional musk, offering an impressive balance between quality and cost-effectiveness.

Olfactory Blind Spot
In a 1986 National Geographic Magazine scent test with 1.5 million participants, about three-quarters of women and two-thirds of men were able to perceive the scent of Galaxolide.

A further development of the synthetic musk it is named after
The Galaxolide S molecule, introduced internally at IFF in 2007, builds on the long-lasting and pure properties that made the original Galaxolide one of the world's most popular fragrances.
