Amarelli
A long history full of passion, culture, entrepreneurship, and tradition, whose roots lie in Rossano, in the Calabria region. Ancient documents attest that as early as 1500, the Amarelli family marketed the underground branches of a plant that still grows in abundance on their lands today: licorice.
To maximize the use of this typical product of the Ionian coast, the Amarellis founded a proto-industrial plant, called "Concio," in 1731 to extract the juice from the roots of this beneficial plant. Thus was born the black, glossy, seductive licorice that delights children, but especially adults who love the pleasures of a healthy and natural lifestyle. Since then, the Amarelli family, who have preserved the taste of this unique product of Italian confectionery tradition, have endured three centuries of constant and radical change.
Only the strong spirit of innovation shared by all eleven generations that have led the company has made this small miracle of sustainability possible.
