Over 75 years ago, Captain John Webb, a US Naval Officer, blended local Bay Rum with the island's tropical bay oil and spice essences – the beginning of a collection of distinctive men's fragrances. The iconic bottles, hand-woven with palm leaves, were inspired by the fishing creels of the Virgin Islands, and the brand continues this Caribbean tradition to this day.

Bay oil has always been a sacred part of Caribbean culture due to its healing properties and intense fragrance, and when Captain Webb learned of it, he knew the whole world could benefit. Bay oil plus native spices create an authentically masculine scent – which is why St Johns Bay Rum® has been successful for 70 years and continues to be so.
