Frequently Asked Questions
Products
We work exclusively with small brands and manufacturers that are not part of large corporations and are not usually found in the usual chain perfumeries.
We guarantee that all products we offer are genuine. To ensure this, we source our products exclusively from the brands themselves or their official distributors.
Unfortunately, we can't. We don't have any sources for discontinued fragrances, nor do we blend fragrances ourselves.
We'd be happy to look for an alternative together, but you should be aware that fragrances vary like fingerprints—even if they share many ingredients, their scent characteristics can be quite different.
The product segment of so-called niche or artistic fragrances generally doesn't differentiate by gender. A well-known perfumer once said something like, "A rose doesn't care whether a woman or a man wears it!"
It's primarily about finding fragrances that make you feel comfortable and that positively touch your emotions.
If a fragrance has been marketed for many years, there may be several reasons that lead to a change in the fragrance:
1) Due to regulatory guidelines of the Cosmetics Regulation, certain ingredients may have been banned or their concentration restricted in the meantime.
2) Especially with designer fragrances, adjustments are made over time to suit the zeitgeist and "mass taste," which are evaluated through consumer surveys.
These designations are concentration specifications that allow you to estimate the fragrance content in a perfume.
For an Eau de Toilette you can expect about 5-10% perfume oil, for an Eau de Parfum about 11-15% perfume oil, while an Extrait de Parfum usually contains over 20 to over 40% perfume oil.
The proportion of perfume oil influences how long the fragrance lasts on the skin, as well as how the fragrance radiates into the environment.
Fragrances are often very complex compositions with many different ingredients of natural and/or synthetic origin.
As with any substance that comes into contact with the body, certain ingredients may trigger allergic reactions. If you are prone to allergies, we recommend taking this into account when using the product.
Additionally, perfumes can be colored by the ingredients used. Therefore, if you're wearing light or delicate clothing, we recommend testing on an inconspicuous area or allowing the fragrance to dry thoroughly before putting it on.
If you have any further questions regarding its use, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Samples & Bottlings
Since we work almost exclusively with small manufacturers, we unfortunately do not have any samples available from most brands or have to purchase them ourselves from the brands.
Therefore, unfortunately, we cannot offer or send free samples.
If you order a full-size sample of a fragrance, we will of course be happy to include something for you to test and discover.
Of course, you will also receive a free sample with your order, depending on availability and the order value.
Despite our limited number of available samples, we always try to select samples that match your order.
You are also welcome to leave us a sample request in the comments field of your shopping cart, which we will be happy to fulfill depending on availability and the value of your order.
Unfortunately, we only receive fragrance samples from a few of our brands. Samples are handcrafted fragrance samples that we create especially for you. This gives you the opportunity to experience fragrances from brands that don't offer samples or discovery sets.
For our fillings we use high-quality and sturdy plastic atomizers with a volume of approx. 2 ml and a lid.
After countless bottlings we have made for our customers over many years, we have come to the conclusion that testing fragrances based on "exciting" reviews on the internet or social media is not very productive and usually does not help you find your next favorite fragrance.
That's why we rely on specialized expert advice and plan to offer curated discovery sets in the future that will truly guide and support you in your fragrance search.
Purchase and advice on site
During our opening hours (currently Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.), you can visit us at any time without an appointment to test and purchase fragrances.
If you are interested in delving deeper into the world of fragrances, we recommend that you take a look at our individual consultation offers , for which you can book an appointment separately.
All products that you find here in our online shop are also available in our Cologne boutique.
If a product is sold out online, we no longer have it in stock in Cologne.
If you'd like to purchase a specific product, we recommend ordering it online and reserving it for in-store pickup. This way, you can be sure no one will snatch the last item right out from under your nose. 😉
In our many years of experience, it is usually not very useful to compile wish lists from information on the Internet or from videos and then test them out, since the individual perception of fragrances often differs greatly from that of other people.
That's why we primarily work on-site through conversation and personalized consultation. This allows us to find the fragrances that appeal to you much more quickly, especially those you may have never heard of before.
If you would like to discover specific fragrances from your list, we would be happy to show you up to three fragrances of your choice.
