Jean-Louis Scherrer

Jean-Louis Scherrer (1935-2013) originally wanted to be a dancer until a fall forced him to take a different path. At his mother's urging, he devoted himself to haute couture, working first with Christian Dior, then, after his death, with Yves Saint Laurent, and then with Louis Féraud.

In 1962, he decided to open his own fashion house at 182 Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré. In 1971, he realized his dream and opened a boutique at 51 Avenue Montaigne. The location became a stronghold of the Parisian fashion scene.

In 1979, the fashion designer began creating perfumes: Jean-Louis Scherrer, followed by Scherrer 2 and Nuits indiennes.
