Perfume
“I love oud,” says Husen Baba, the founder of the Azman fragrance house with its unique scents.
"I've been working with oud for many years and have always been a huge fan of what the perfume houses have created with this fabulous, incredible substance."
There are so many ways to describe Risk, but none of these descriptions will be truly conclusive.
"Two years ago, I had the dream of creating the ultimate oud fragrance. Despite countless creations, I could still imagine a concoction that would pay the ultimate homage to the sublime oud oil."
According to Husen, the path to creating Risk wasn't easy. The concept profile and execution process required a significant amount of time to create one matrix of oud and another of musky, oriental florals with a hint of earthiness and leather.
"I commissioned Antonio Gardoni, one of the world's best contemporary noses, to create these two matrices, and the result was the perfect twin to the abstract mélange I had in my mind's eye."
Risk was envisioned as a "crown of fire," the pinnacle of desire and passion. The name is inspired by great undertakings in life, achieved with vision, perseverance, nonchalance, and a large dose of risk.
The oud matrix was created by blending SIX types of oud - both old and new - while the floral-musky matrix was created with the yellow strawflower - helichrysum, tuberose absolute, iris and a few others.
If you approach this fragrance with the typical idea of a fragrance pyramid, you're in danger. Don't think like that! There's the citrus interlude created with yuzu and bergamot. The rest is a magical roller coaster of alternating streams of wafting notes.
"I wanted to move away from the typical pyramid structure. I envisioned a fragrance with 'cycles of intertwined auras'—a journey with oud and oriental musk notes, carried out with the finest aromas."
Risk - THAT'S IT!
For the curious noses out there, the listed fragrance notes are in no particular order!
