V For Vetiver
Eau de Parfum
Kannauj, the capital of the Vardhana dynasty, known for its precious aromatics, became a center of trade in the 7th century. This success did not go unnoticed by Emperor Harshavardhana, who subsequently imposed a vetiver tax. While many remained silent, a group of perfumers, believing the new tax would be used to finance violence against innocent people, staged a revolt. Under cover of night, the rebels showered the city with scented oils. After being crushed by the fragrant forces of Kannauj, the tax was abolished.
