Parfum extract
Accords: Musk, Tonka Bean, Iris Butter
Mood: Sexy, gentle yet intense, seductive
Unspoken Musk is my personal musk and on the olfactory map it lies in a realm closer to humanity and sensuality.
It is an emotional musk as it almost evokes a physical reaction as you experience your deepest emotions.
Sweet, velvety, seductive, dirty, floral, human; innocent and sinful at the same time, musk represents the dichotomy that defines humanity.
Perhaps I wanted to boldly venture into a territory even more dangerous than the pure expression of personal authority that finds expression in perfume, namely to offer my own interpretation of the “raw materials” – the building blocks of a perfume composition and, at the same time, the crucial pillars of the history of perfumery.
The outcome of this adventure will certainly be temporary, as my positions and ideas on certain raw materials are diverse and may change over time.
These interpretations are certainly not to be considered as realistic reconstructions, but rather as the result of a temporary artistic vision.
With Unspoken Musk, I wanted to define, in the multitude of possible meanings, what musk evokes in me.
I wasn't looking for a realistic representation of natural musk, which is where the inspiration came from.
If natural musk types cannot be used in perfumery, synthetic variants also cover a wide range of olfactory categories.
From “clean” musks with a “fresh laundry” note (which don’t evoke any artistic imagination in me, but are pleasant in their purely functional use) to “dirty” musks that have led to interesting interpretive excesses, these two extremes define a very broad “musk map” where anything is possible.
Unspoken Musk is the fruit of my imagination: although it is undoubtedly inspired by natural musk, it is enriched by the overlay of memories, associations and readings about this mythical ingredient that has intoxicated humans for centuries.
And as I developed this fantasy, its symbolic character grew stronger in my mind: humanity, tenderness, intensity, passion .
Perfumes there are as sweet as the music of pipes and strings,
As pure as the naked flesh of children, as full of peace
As wide green prairies — and there are others, having the whole
Corrupt proud all-pervasiveness of infinite things,
Like francincense, and musk, and myrrh, and ambergris,
That cry of the ecstasy of the body and of the soul.
