ABOUT THIS COLLABORATION

Legend has it that Tyler Malek, co-founder of the popular ice cream chain Salt & Straw, was in Los Angeles sampling different perfumes at the Scent Bar when he fell in love with the Imaginary Authors brand, unaware that we were based in his hometown of Portland, Oregon. This enthusiasm fueled his dream of creating a culinary perfume to add fragrance to ice cream, which has no scent. We loved the idea but had no idea how to execute it. To buy time, we offered him the opportunity to create something we knew would be truly magical: capturing the scent of freshly baked waffle cones that you notice when you walk into an ice cream parlor.
