This time Lorenzo leaves his comfort zone, that of fruity delights, with great appeal that expresses joy and smiles.
He enters darker territory and does so with his usual approach, tiptoeing, experimenting with something new, but no less captivating.
Of course, Lorenzo's sunny disposition cannot be missed, and so Incenso Notturno is not at all nocturnal in its opening.
Citrus fruits and elemi resin, also citrusy, with a hint of black pepper, create an intense, initially bright character.
The development is slow, and the light turns into night, with woody, earthy and, of course, smoky accords.
It becomes nocturnal and mysterious, with an earthy, peppery character, like a nighttime winter stroll in a cold medieval town.
The cold, damp interior of a now-empty church, where the smell of wood from the pews and confessionals mingles with that of burning candles and incense. The cold, damp walls exude their characteristic odor.
The warm balsamic component is perfectly balanced by the moist and earthy patchouli component and the result is surprising and damn gothic.
