The island is home to psychedelic places and scents, sublime atmospheres that only heat can conjure, the warmth of the wind, the light scent of citrus fruits, yuzu lemonades, day and night, on the horizon. That same year, after a long absence, I returned to Sicily and Japan; it was the summer of '23. The lemonades at the old port, the children running through the sunny streets of the Kasbah, the warm wind on the beaches, a sip of amaro every evening, dear friends from distant worlds. I strolled through the light-filled streets of Mazara del Vallo, my hometown, watching the sun shine on my body, delighting in rediscovering my childhood. Everything was there: my homeland, my love, my friends, my closest ties.

Isola is a human state of mind, the awareness that water is everywhere and that this pure element isolates us but also protects us. It was that same summer, and I was wandering through the streets of Japan, seeking refuge in the shade of quiet gardens, listening to the passage of time, and observing the hot August sun. In Isola, I expressed my love for life, the contrast and union of two distinct cultures. Isola is a citrus fragrance that, with notes of lemon and yuzu, speaks of two important places in my life, my memories.

Isola is a sparkling fragrance, like a can of yuzu lemonade sipped on the streets of Osaka in the summer. Isola is like a fresh lemonade sipped in the Sicilian summer heat, while gazing at the sea on the horizon, rich in lights and reflections, our gaze happy, moistened by the sun and the salty water of the sea. Isola is my turn to light. Fresh notes and no darkness: that is Meo's great olfactory revolution in this fragrance, the great challenge: to narrate the happiness of an unforgettable summer through a fresh yuzu lemonade. I had a wish, to make that feeling eternal. Now it's all come true.
Isola was conceived, composed and arranged, listening to the albums of Franco Battiato and Kikagaku Moyo in each of these phases.
