Oblivion
Perfume
What if it were best for humans to forget rather than remember?
Cambodia
I was in Cambodia, on a long journey up the Mekong, searching for oblivion as salvation. The banks of the great river, the dry season of spring, light and luminous notes of helichrysum, frankincense, and orange open this river, a golden river, a luminous labyrinth of the soul. The sound of drums at night drowns out the silence in the temple; it is the beginning of a new day.
Forgetting
Oblivion tells of man's journey in search of forgetfulness, with Tiziano Terzani as spiritual and literary guide. An invitation to travel, a connection to the Orient that is becoming ever closer for me. Slowly, memories flow between the herbal and smoky notes of Mate Tabacco, the warmth of iris speaks to the soul; we are now at the heart of L'Oblìo. As the long journey comes to an end, the gentle woody notes of sandalwood and palo santo bring us back to the depths of balance.
The Redemption
Only sunset is missing to define the end, but oblivion remains, like an eternal scent, like dust in ancient temples. A scent that not only tells of a journey, but celebrates a close connection between memory and oblivion. Oblivion is a spiral of silence.
