A fragrance inspired by Hawaii can take different directions. Perhaps the most typical would reflect the floral and tropical fruit notes of the island, but that was not our choice. We were immediately drawn to the exotic and mysterious essence of the archipelago. The active volcanoes and isolated location in the midst of the vast ocean exude a fascinating beauty.
The fragrance notes of aka'ula are meant to express exactly that. Hawaii under the night sky and the distant glow of Kīlauea. The darker leather and resin notes of the fragrance are balanced by marine ozone notes, spices, and the fresh, green nuances of distilled pineapple leaves.
Despite its intensity, aka'ula wears elegantly on the skin. A perfect fragrance for a night out on the town, as sophisticated as it is daring.
Origin of the name: From Hawaiian, meaning "red shadow" or "red sunset".
